Your Eye Exam

Our eye examination is designed to determine the health of your eyes, detect any abnormalities and to allow us to piece together the information required to correct your vision with either contacts or an eye glass prescription.

Retinoscopy

This test helps us gauge what is needed for your prescription. We use an instrument, called a phoropter, that contains multiple wheels of lenses. With the help of direct light, we will flip through the lenses and make note of the way light reflects from your eye.

Refraction

This is the test we use to determine your exact eyeglasses prescription. We begin with the phoropter in front of your eyes and move through multiple lens choices. You are asked which combination allows you to see a chart across the room with the most clarity. The result is the prescription needed to correct your vision.

Additional Tests

There are many tests we can perform to really examine the health of your eyes. These are tests for Glaucoma, Cataracts, Issues with the Retina, among others. Although we are not a surgical eye center, we do assist in the detection and diagnosis of several eye problems. We have an excellent partner that is a well-known and extremely experienced eye surgeon that we can refer you to if a discovery has been made.
